Description
***NOT-for PROFIT*** CURIOUS GEORGE (show name in passport) is an approx. 10hh Dartmoor (DHP) rescue foal originally from the hills, then the market unto a producer before coming here to the rescue & he is only around a year old! Many will pass him by because he's still a colt, in scruffy winter woollies, in need of more taming/training. Yet I am convinced that under that scruffy winter foal coat hides a stunning future mega-soft, classic shiny dark bay, future 11.2hh Dartmoor (DHP) show pony. Dartmoor's & DHP's are renowned for making great kids ponies & beautiful show ponies. Curious George has such a striking but sweet face, nice movements & thick mane& tail. With right input, should make a lovely kids pony, lead rein, Pony Club & First Ridden project. I believe he is a diamond in the rough, but the person or family who re-home will likely find with time, that they got the best. I will not be surprised if they end up taking home some rosettes. We ae now just on the hunt for that special, confident & kind individual or family who will hedge their bets on him, put in the time to bring the best out in him.. If someone wants to take on a rescue & get those amazing before & after photos this is your pony. Can't wait to see the transformation & the joy he will bring. Someone autistic is especially going to like that mega-soft Dartmoor summer show coat he will get. Better than a lot of soft toys! He is microchipped & passported on a genuine blue Pet id DHP passport with photo. He seems fit & healthy. Been through the usual isolation/ observation period on arrival. Not seen any sign of sickness, lameness, laminitis, sweet itch, asthma or Cushings. Nor have we seen any signs of accidents/injuries, lumps or bumps. Had a series of wormers. Might be ready for another when he moves to his new yard. Fully up to date. Had 2 Flue/Tetanus vaccinations. Feet trimmed here every 6 wks. Been good for vet & farrier to do. Used to be tied up; nicely and have all four feet picked, rugged up etc. Somewhat shy/unsure, but his curiosity soon gets the better of him. Comes over somewhat timidly to greet us & to watch what you are doing. Taming & training and generally winning his trust is ongoing each day. Something so cute about him. Just steals your heart, but is a colt & his hormones are coming through so will, when ready, need gelded. Also although he likes small children it is advisable that the person who initially works with him is an adult or a confident, older, experienced teen. In due course, with more taming I am sure he could make a lovely kids pony for riding, showing etc. Likely to make someone's best friend & all the hard work will be worth it all. Along the way they can get such a good bond and make some amazing memories together. Before they know it they could be off to the beach, shows, camps etc. But before we run too ahead of ourselves.... The re-homing fee is £900 as seen to the right home. Not for profit & the money just goes back into the project to buy hay etc or straight into our vet account. Once approved & payment has been received in full and cleared, person gets full ownership (not just a loan or lease), passport & signed receipt. Can then also usually arrange CHEAP SAME or NEXT DAY, COST PRICE, DELIVERY to anywhere in the UK. It's 50p/mile roundtrip + any tolls + ferry costs (if applicable) but it must be paid up front. No charge for our time as we do it for the love of it. Person must be over 18, committed, kind with suitable place to keep the pony & able to afford to the pony. Sorry no loaning, LWTVTB, hackling, holding, payment plans or free ponies (even if rich or poor). We know that when the right person or family comes they will think him well worth that and be happy to support the work we do. If not there is no obligation to re-home anything. If in doubt leave it out. If you are interested & think you might be that special person who has what it takes to bond with this pony and bring him on then we are waiting to hear from you. Why not arrange a visit to meet him & maybe re-home him & make him part of your family? We do our best to give honest advise & are happy to stay in touch if the person wants. Thanks for reading! Look forward to hearing from you.x
